Easy Overnight Oats

Overnight oats is basically a no-cook, prep-the-night-before method of cooking oatmeal. It's super versatile and allows you to load on the flavours, nutrients and fruits of your choosing. Instead of cooking oatmeal, soaking it for at least 2 hours makes it soft enough for consumption. What's more, this method also allows it to absorb whatever other flavours you soak it with!

Here's my basic recipe - I use a OAT x OAT MILK combo which I promise is super earthy and delicious!

INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS

This recipe makes 1 jar, enough for 1 person

Simply combine all the below ingredients in a jar, mix it up well and cover with a lid. Place in fridge for at least 2 hours before consumption. I like to make it the night before to allow maximum absorption for a gooey and sticky consistency.

  • 1 jar with lid

  • 1 cup organic oats

  • 1 cup organic oat milk

  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

  • Sprinkle of frozen or fresh berries such as strawberries, blueberries (optional but recommended)

When ready to eat, simply remove the lid and garnish with the below ingredients.

  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon crushed nuts such as peanuts, almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon goji berries

  • Sliced bananas

As you can see, once you get the FIRST part(overnight oats base) right, you can basically add in whatever ingredients you like to build up your delicious breakfast.

Oats are known to fill you up, so this will help with hunger pangs by the time lunch comes around! Hangry-control = better lunch decisions AMIRITE :P
